Comic books (Comics)/Do not know where to start?!!
Expert: Chris Brown - 9/25/2006
QuestionHello! My name is Mindy and I have a few comic books that my ex-husband was holding onto..I have searched online to see if I could find them or maybe figure out how much they would be worth if anything at all?!But, I have had no luck, I am starting to think that these comics I have are fake...
I have: Three G.I.JOE EUROPEAN MISSIONS and withint the MARVEL box in the top left corner of the cover to the right of the cost, one has June 1,September 4 and last February 9...
Then there are: Four "The Punisher" two of which say "war journal" unerneath "The Punisher" and both have Spider-Man in them...One January 14 and the other February 15...The third one just states "The Punisher" on it, March 61....The fourth one states "Back To School Special" underneath "The Punisher"...Instead of a month with a number, this one just has #1 and then ccc 01815....This one has 64 pages...
Then I have five odd balls...
1: DAMAGE CONTROL - "#1 in a 4-issue limited series!" May 1
2: SQUADRON SUPREME - "#1 in a twelve-issue limited series" September 1
3: The IMPOSSIBLE MAN - "ANNUAL" - 64 pages,ccc 01434,1(black circle between these)1990
4: THE SECRET DEFENDERS - "1ST Unbelievable issue!",Mettalic like colors on cover,March 1,bottom left corner has a box stating "30th Anniversary 1962 1992 with a drawing of Spider-Man - THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN
5: THE WARLOCK CHRONICLES - Direct Edition,"1st Spectacular Issue!",has mettalic like silver background color,July 1
Those are what I have...I do not know if they are worth anything and cant seem to find them online...Can you help me in anyway?
And would you have any idea what a Collector's Edition "Princess Diana Once Upon a Time" Topps TRIBUTES comic like book is?Or if I could do anything with that?Thought I would ask!!
Well, I hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you for any and all help you can give me!!
Mindy
AnswerHi Mindy
I doubt the comics are fake. There have been very few instances of people making fake or counterfeit comics.
Most of these comics have a price guide value of $3 per issue in perfect condition. The G.I. Joe European Missions issues list at $6 or $9 in perfect condition depending on which issues you have (sorry I can't tell that by the dates).
I generally don't expect most comics from this time frame to be easy to sell. I would suspect you would be lucky to find someone to pay $10 for the lot of them. However, you might try searching past auctions on eBay and see what people have actually paid for these issues recently.
Good luck!
Chris
