QuestionHi Chris
Thank you for your answer.I have a book called "Horror Comics of The 1950s" (nostalgia press) on the last page of this book, there is a small b&w drawing by Johnny Craig of the "Vault Keeper" reading a copy of SOTI! i was wondering was this drawing done for this book i own,or did it appear in one of EC's horror comics? Thank You Wayne

Hello
i am interested in the 1950s satire comicbooks such as "Mad" "Cracked" etc... and i was wondering if there is a website with a checklist of all of the satire comics?
Thank You
Wayne

Hi Wayne
I don't know of a really detailed website listing. However, the wikipedia entry for Mad does have a section titled "Imitators and variants" that lists many or most of the comics and magazines of this type.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_(magazine)#Imitators_and_variants
You could get more info about the individual titles at the Grand Comic Database website (though it seems to be down at the moment, possibly being updated):
http://www.comics.org/
I also have a friend who is quite a big collector of these titles. His name is Ger and his email is
geapelde@euronet.nl
You may want to contact him if you have further questions on this subject or want to buy or trade issues.
Good luck!
Chris
AnswerHi Wayne
My understanding is that the only new drawings in that book are the pages by Joe Orlando. Other than the Torres story, of course, which was not new but was previously unpublished. I wouldn't be able to tell you where the Craig drawing originally appeared.
