Question
what does the term " cgc value" mean when relating to comic books

Answer
Hello :

CGC refers to a grading company called Comics Guarantee Cy, which became famous a few years back for grading comics and subsquently encasing them in plastic cases.

Each comic book graded by CGC is "captured" in a database, which is used by purchasers to authentify the book.

CGC graded comic books have higher value as they are certified to be in described condition, and because they are sure to remain in the same condition as they are encased.

Hpoe this is useful.

I have been collecting comics for 20 years, mostly Marvel from the 70s and 80s. I have a pretty large collection of comics and portfolios. I am a big Fan of Walt Simonson and P Craig Russell in particular.
