Question
Hi there, I'm in possession of a 1928 copy of 'The Gumps" it is book 5. It has some wear and tear and I think that my little sister coloured a couple of pages when we were small. It's not missing any pages and the cover both front and back are still intact. It has a gauze-y spine that is still mostly intact but is starting to pull away at the bottom.
Would it be worth my while to sell it privately or on ebay perhaps? I really have no use for it and think that a collector might like to have it.
Regards,Michelle

Answer
Hi Michelle

Sorry to take a couple days getting back to you--I've been out of town.  The book you describe does have some value and collector interest.  However, the condition doesn't sound like the best.  If it is still complete, readable and not overly browning or brittle, I would expect you might be able to get around $10-20 for it on eBay.
