Commercial Real Estate Investment/Lease

Question
Can a leaser sell the business I have leased for a remaining four years, without any notification

Answer
Hi Tina,

I'm afraid there's no way to know for sure without looking at the lease.  However, I would *almost* guarantee that you must request landlord's consent to assign the lease.  Virtually every commercial lease requires this.

Please look in your lease for the provisions titled Assignment, Change of Control, or Transfer to find the paragraphs you will have to review.

Hope this helps,
