Commercial Real Estate Investment - Dubai or India?

Expert: Peter Liebert, SIOR - 7/26/2009

Question
Hi Peter,

I am an Indian expatriate living in Dubai and I don't have the first clue about real estate investment. I am fresh out of college and wanted to know whether it would be wiser to invest in Dubai or in India (I am honestly not interested in buying property anywhere else in the world, whether it is safer or not). In other words, which country's real estate sector is doing better during this time of recession? And why? Any statistics/data to prove this would be really very helpful.

Thank you so much for your time, Satish

Answer
Satish, we have seven Colliers offices in India. Let me know which metropolitan area might be of interest and I can forward a contact name to you. Regarding Dubai, I have heard that real estate activity is at a standstill. Regards. / Peter
