Explain the functional & behavioral competencies. List down 5 functional & 5 behavioral
competencies for evaluation of a management trainee.

Thanks for the question.

Selection of Competencies depends on the organisational competency model. You may have to refer to your organisational competency mapping process for that. If your organisation does not have a competency model, we may have to get to the basics of identifying competencies based on job description, which is an out put of job study and competency architecture.

However, to proivde a guideline as you desired, here is an example:

Functional Competencies :  Written/spoken communication, Job knowledge, analytical ability, quality of work output, speed and accuracy in day to day transactions etc.

Behavioura Competencies :  Patience, Learning capability, Team playing, ethics and values, employee relations etc.
