Subject: 1/4 tempered glass

Question
Steve I have seen you answer a lot of questions on tempered glass I'm sorry but i have one more I have 2 pieces of 1/4 tempered glass which are 19 1/2 x 16 1/2 supported by 4 plastic coated shelf pins will these pieces of glass hold my stereo receiver which weighs 35 pounds.

Answer
Dear Robert,

No Problem, the glass shelf calculator indicates this can hold over 100 lbs. I would doubt the little clips could take it though. Might want to consider metal ones, available at most hardware stores. Make sure that they also have the plastic covers to help spread out the load on the glass.

Best Regards,
Steve Olson
