Composite Materials/glass fiber rope properties

Question
I want to know about the mechanical properties of fiber glass rope, specially its modulus of elasticity and stress strain curves.
thank you

Answer
Hi Behnoosh,

I need a little more information about the fibre itself - is it in raw state, how many ends and twist, is it in a lmainant, if so - need the resin type and engineering properties in conjunction with the fibre type.  There should be information from the manufacturer about the yarn (or tow) construction, how many individual filaments, what twist etc.  Typically something like a 7/x yarn, E glass, perhaps laid with a thermoset epoxy resin with a Tg of 100deg C.

Look forward to your response,

Regards,
Andy
