Composting - manure cropping

Expert: Greg - 10/14/2009

Question
Do you have an opinion about gardening with manure?

Answer
Hello Cole

You can garden with manure, with a few exceptions. Never use manure from a Meat Eating Animal, only from Grazers such as Horses and Cows. Always let the manure "age" before you use it, never use it Fresh. Manure should be composted first, before it is used, unless you are letting it sit on the ground for the Winter, then it would decompose naturally.

I hope this helps, if I have missed something here, don't be afraid to ask another question

Greg
