Question
Which type of substance should I add to an acidic soil to make its pH more suitale for earthworm activty?

Water?
Calcium carbonate?
Iron Oxide?
Clay?

Answer
Hello Adrian

First of all, I have never had this question posed to me before.

First let me say that Earthworms are so adaptable to the conditions around them, that I think a Soil Ph <problem> is really no problem at all, relative to Earthworms.

The Conditions that Earthworm thrive in are, loose airy Soils, but not Sandy. They will dig through Clay Soils, and thats why they are prized by Gardeners, taking Organic matter with them, and leaving their Casings behind.

A top layer of Leaves, Grass, or any thing that can Decay, combined with a light moisture in an undisturbed setting is all thats really needed for Earthworms to thrive. They will find this very quickly if you can make that condition for them.

I hope this helps, and the best of Luck
