Question
QUESTION: ARE GRASS CUTTINGS BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH IF LEFT IN LARGE PILES BY YOUR HOME AS WE LIVE ON A CARAVAN PARK AND THE OWNER JUST LEAVES IT BY THE END OF OUR CARAVAN MANY THANKS
ANSWER: Hello Walter

Grass clippings left in piles, unturned and left alone, will turn Putrid and smell. This could be a problem, because it will attract things like Maggots. I am assuming that the owner bags the grass and just dumps it in a pile. If this is the case, ask him if he could buy a Mulching Mower that slices the clippings up while the grass is being mowed. This will solve the problem.

The best of luck

QUESTION: HI GREG HE JUST LEAVES OPEN TO THE AIR HE DOSE NOT BAG IT JUST DUMPS IT IN PILES ALOVER IS THERE ANY DANGER IN THIS MANY THANKS.

Answer
Hello again Walter

Like I said before, the only health risk posed is if it turns sour and Putrid. You can tell if this happens by the smell. The smell is REALLY bad, and when is smells, it attracts fly's and they lag their eggs, hence maggots.

Since you are not causing this, you have to ask whoever is doing this to change their habits. A Mulching mower will cure this problem, but that means you have to convince someone else to buy a Mulching Mower.

When I said BAG it I meant that they BAG it then dump it in piles. This is not good, but depending on how far away you are from it, it should not pose an actual Health risk.

Work with the Caretaker or whoever is responsible, because you should not have to worry about this.

Best of Luck
