Computational Biology / Bioinformatics/Important major
computational science or computer-aided drug design, which one is more important? Do both need programming?
Computer Aided Drug Design (CADD) is a component of Bioinformatics course. Computational Science deals with the algorithms in Bioinformatics. You haven't mentioned about your basic degree. If it had mathematics and computer science in it, you can choose Computational Science. If you have biology or life sciences as your basic degree then choose Bioinformatics. CADD is more specific and application oriented. This doesn't require programming, though it would be nice if you have working knowledge in Linux environment. But on the other hand Computational Science do require some programming skills. Regarding which is important... its up to you to decide as both has scope.
