Question
Are characteristics such as personality or particular interest and talents, able to be passed to an individual through heredity?
hi i was wondering why you have asked the related questions in different posts and not the same post?
anyways here we go..
1)charecteristics like personality or interest and talents cannot be passed to an individual through heredity.
(children of some sports stars or film stars also become sports persons or actors themselves but then its coz of the environment they are brought up in and not genetics)

I have a broad knowledge in subjects like applied bioinformatics (for example, pathogenomics, computer aided drug design etc)(but not the computational aspects like algorithms, data mining etc), genetic engineering, genomics, molecular therapeutics, drug design and discovery, immunology, cancer and hiv biology,genomics and proteomics. i will be happy to answer fundamental queries in these areas.
Experience
I am graduating in fall 2006, and hoping to work towards a PhD in life sciences/bioinformatics/pharmaceutical sciences. i have about 16 technical oral/poster presentations to my credit. i am the co-author of 7 papers which have been published. (while some of my manuscripts are still being reviewed). i am pretty confiedent about answering queries as i have taken core courses in more than 50 subjects relating to life sciences.
