Answer
uh...well...it goes like this...

ill explain with the help of an example...

stem cells in teh bone marrow are capable of becoming/ transformiong into any other immune system cell type (like cd4+ t cell or b cells or macrophages)....

this process is called cellular differentiation...this is the process by which cells become  more specialized in function.

Expertise

I have a broad knowledge in subjects like applied bioinformatics (for example, pathogenomics, computer aided drug design etc)(but not the computational aspects like algorithms, data mining etc), genetic engineering, genomics, molecular therapeutics, drug design and discovery, immunology, cancer and hiv biology, genomics and proteomics. i will be happy to answer fundamental queries in these areas.

Experience

I am graduating in fall 2006, and hoping to work towards a PhD in life sciences/bioinformatics/pharmaceutical sciences. i have about 16 technical oral/poster presentations to my credit. i am the co-author of 7 papers which have been published. (while some of my manuscripts are still being reviewed). i am pretty confiedent about answering queries as i have taken core courses in more than 50 subjects relating to life sciences.
