Question Hello - here's my story, probably sounds dumb. My 2 college roommates and myself recently visited a porn website, one that strictly was for people to post their own videos. There were all kinds of different "genres" and viewed quite a few of them. One was for teens...albeit I'm guessing they were for legal teens age 18-19. We are very concerned now about the teen section. Can we be certain that we did nothing illegal here? We assumed the age of these people were 18-19 and didn't think anything of it at the time. But how do you know? I assume that there are certain laws and guidelines that this website must adhere to? We didn't spend much time on the site and it was our first encounter with, after second thought, a very unappealing form of entertainment. We are all just now paranoid about the whole thing. Guess we are just naive, but want to make sure this website was legit and we won't get into any trouble for something I guess. Our consciences are getting the best of us and needless to say we will chalk that one up to be young and dumb! We appreciate your response and guidance in this matter. Once again, we just want to make sure we did nothing wrong! Thank you so much!
Answer Hey Robbie,
Well I have to say its nice to see that young people still have a conscience! Good for you.
As for the site and its contents. There is nothing or no one that oversees these sites to make sure they are legal. And many illegal (underage, illegal content) sites do pop up and are eventually shut down when we become aware of them.
You and your buddies are pretty safe. Don't worry too much. First you would have had to visit more than the one site one time to come up on our RADAR. We are able to tell, even if you got caught, the difference between what we call accidental or curiosity type viewers verse those that collect or are constantly on-line looking at illegal content. In other words, we are looking more for the person that downloads the images, and shares them to others on the net then the guy/gal that happens to run across the site by accident, or out of curiosity.
What I would do if I was you would of course not to return to that site. Second I would delete my Internet Explorer Temporary files. Thats where the images from the site you visited are stored.
You should be fine after that, caulk it up to learning, and thanks for checking!
Be Safe!
