Computer Law/Computer emails with former partners

Question
I have a unique situation.  I have a former business partner who was also a love interest whom I have accessed their email.  Originally, I did have access to his email for our google ad-words campaign and shared this account.  When we broke up, he didnt change the password.  A few weeks later, I tried to access a related business account and had to use the password recovery section which then emailed my "shared" email account the new password.  I went into the old "SHARED" account and retrieved the information I needed. However, it was obvious that my former business partner did not expect me to regain access from what he has now put online within this account.  The problem is -- I didnt know until today that it could possibily be a problem with accessing someone's email account.  But originally I did have permission and access.  Also the information that I have obtained from this old "SHARED" email account proves my suspecisions of his "ILLEGAL" activities.  I want to stop this man to ensure that he will not hurt others --- He is a medical doctor who is extremly dangerous!!!!  He has sexual materials involving underaged children, involving him portraying himself as a woman and about him portraying himself as a young woman under 17 to meet young men.  This is a man of 56 years old.  A medical doctor.  I have made some reports ONLINE as reports against his medical license but with this new information -- this man would go to jail which would SAVE the public trust.  But by turning this information in  --- Could I be subject to a federal crime charge for getting into his email?  This is NOT his primary personal email but a secondary email account which  he has used for years.  I feel ackward asking this but would appreciate your responce.  Could you EMAIL me your answer as well as POST it online too.  THANK YOU SO MUCH for your public service.

Also I would be interested in retaining you as a consultant to assist me with pursuing what I am legally able to achieve to protect othersd.  He is that dangerous!!!!!!!

Thankyou === Deborah G. Boca Raton, Florida

Answer
Hi Deborah,

Sorry for the delay in answering you but I wanted to talk to a friend of mine who is a member of ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) and a State Attorney friend of mine. Now That I have here is what I recommend.

You call the local Police, Sheriff or FBI and tell them you have information about a person who is in possession of child pornography. But that you want immunity from prosecution because the information you have was gained illegally but that you feel its important enough for you to come forward. Make sure they give you the immunity before you give them the information, and get it in writing. OR you can send them the information anonymously in a letter explaining the situation and giving them the information. Either way it gives them something to go on. You have to do something, doing nothing is putting the children in more danger and letting this person get away with it.

What you did is a misdemeanor and not that bad, they would more than likely not charge you with anything since you came forward with the information on the children. Or even if they did, you would more than likely not serve any time in jail. First time Misd charges hardly ever serve any time. Especially if they are helping law enforcement get a child predator off the streets.

If it was me, even knowing that I might face misdemeanor charges, I would take everything I have and go to my local police and give them everything I have and let them go from there.
