Question
Hello,
My friend is about to go through a divorce and she wanted to know if it was illegal for her husband to log into her Myspace. Her husband and daughter logged onto her Myspace and printed out copies of her online conversations. In the conversations she wrote that she liked a guy but didn't know if it was going to work, and thats about it. My questions are if it is legal for him to access her Myspace after she had told him not to violate her privacy and take copies of her conversations, and could he possibly use this against her in court? We live in California.

No it is not legal for them to do that. There are no exceptions for spouses to illegally gain access to private accounts. Here is a link to the Cal. Computer laws.

Your friend needs to seek legal help to get this taken care of and report it to the police. I wish her the best of luck.
