Computer Law/Stepfather hacking into my facebook

Hey Chris my name is caitlynn I am almost 20 I live with my mom and stepdad today my stepdad decided to hack into my Facebook since I wouldn't delete a post a posted. I posted the post on my iPod which I bought myself. He hacked my Facebook using his computer which I have never used by using his knowledge about programming and databases I was wondering if this was illegal of him to do so considering I never gave him permission or my password to do so by the way I am in New York State.

Hi Caitlynn,

Since you are an adult yes it is against the law for him to enter any of yoru accounts without your express permssion. All you have to do is call you local police and report it as an unauthorized access to a network or computer. new york has some very good laws about this type of crime.

The sooner its reported the better the chances of the police being able to follow up on it and solve it and if needed, charge him with the crime.
