Question
Suppose you are designing a computer that has a CPU with two levels of cache (level 1 and level 2). The access times for levels 1 and 2 are 10 nsec and 20 nsec respectively. This CPU uses main memory which has access time of 100 nsec and a disk which has access time of 200 msec. Assume that a faster memory is always accessed before a slower one in order to find any data. If data is not found in cache or main memory then it will always be found on disk. If 5% of accesses are level 1 cache hits, 20% are level 2 cache hits and 50% are memory hits, what is the average(expected) access time for this computer?

Answer
