Question
i have a dell notebook d820, when i start the computer it goes till the blue screen asking for user name and password, but when i put my password and user name the windows programs does not finish login and oppositely logs off automatically,,,how can i solve this problem

Answer
This might not be a computer security question -- let's hope it's something far more simple. Here's how to see if you can easily fix the problem.

Sometimes the Windows operating system commits suicide in the way you described simply because of its gazillions of bugs. Because of this, your version of Windows has an easy way to solve the problem by using Safe Mode and System Restore.

So, next time you try to start your computer, keep on hitting F8 at it boots. After awhile you will get a menu that asks you how you want to start Windows. Choose Safe Mode. Then after it finished booting, go to System Restore and choose the most recent Restore Point. If you need additional help in using this safety feature, there is a detailed tutorial at http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1643

If you managed to boot into Safe Mode, but System Restore didn't work, you are welcome to email me directly at carolyn.meinel@techbroker.com and we'll try some more complicated and painful ways to fix your computer.
