Computer Security & Viruses/AVG 8.0 Scheduled Scan

Question
I am using the Scheduled Scan function in AVG 8.0 with XP/SP3 and have it set to run daily at 01:30.  When I check the Scan History the next day, I see that the scan ran, but that the Start Time and End Time are the same (01:30), and Tested Objects is given as 0.  When I do a manual scan of the whole computer with the same Scan Settings, the number of Tested Objects is closed to 1,000,000.  Why does the automated scan not show the same number of Tested Object?  Is it not completing for some reason?

My laptop is set to Always On, but I have the hard drive set in XP Power Options to turn off after 30 minutes, so the hard drive is turned off at 01:30.  I thought that the hard drive would automatically turn on again when the scan started automatically at 01:30.  Could that be the problem?

Answer
Hi Martin

I have been researching an answer, so I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.  Yes, I believe that the scan will not awaken your drive...causing a zero scan result.  Try going into your power settings and changing things.  Turn off the monitor but not the hard drive after a set amount of time.  Enable Stand-By but disable Hibernate.  See if that helps any.  Let me know.
