Computer Security & Viruses/Virus Protection

Question
Recently, I have been getting pop ups from a virus protection site. It changed my home page to it's site and pops up during surfing. I am not able to delete the virus protection. It is called AAV lab virus protection. Do you know how I can get it off my computer.

Thanks, Brad

Answer
Congratulations for refusing to pay off the AAV lab crooks. One of the best free programs for removing this nasty spyware extortion scheme is Ad-aware, see http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

If this doesn't work, please let me know.

Also, if you use the Firefox browser, free from mozilla.org, this will protect you better when visiting dangerous websites and prevent popups even if they are just annoying ads.
