QuestionI,ve been having problems with my pc for quite a while.I have been systematically trying to fix a bad Virus on my PC.I couldn't get rid of it so I threw in the white towel. And installed a New hard Drives and Installed new os system.Bottom Line is I have still have the bug back. When I installed windows There was a window that open that had a command line with some letters on it and there was some it happen so fast you really couldn't see what it was.Is there any way a bug can get on your Motherboard or Memenory sticks or any piece of hardware? Iformatted my PC With new out of the box Hard drives,I formatted 4 times I still have the bug. When I formatted the only thing that was hooked up to my PC ws a mouse and keyboard The reason i Think i have the Bug is becuase all my drivers and software had a problem installing espically my anti-virus software.I cant update windows either.so it is possible to a bug i your hareware or is there something I'M not doing right.Your thoughts would be a appreciated
AnswerThe virus is most likely in your BIOS or CMOS. To clear(reboot) the CMOS find the round, coin shaped battery. With the power off and the system unplugged take the battery out and leave it out for approx. 10 minutes. On some motherboards there are jumper posts that will clear the CMOS. Once you take the battery out you just short the posts together with a metal object. Taking the battery out and leaving it out for 10 minutes or so should do the trick if your motherboard does not have the jumpers.
Let me know how you come out and if I can help you further.
