Question
I need a way to clean my  work computer (for free) you see one of my bosses busted me trying to find a bus this morning ... he tore into me which I can handle but then he implied I was stealing time (as far as clocking in & out) which is utterly false but I feel like he has it out for me ... maybe I'm just being paranoid but I also hear that they underbid (by a lot) to get this contract and they are looking to let people go. I'm not the only one who goes online but I need to keep my job ... I had adaware and atf cleaner (but I deleted them) should I put them back on? is there anything better? besides I pay my bills and check my account on lunch I don't like the idea of someone having access to my private info ... I tried winclear and it found a bunch of stuff but I couldn't afford the clean ... please help me

Answer
Hi Kel,

Hate to say this but when at work, you are getting paid to work not to use their computers for your personal use. Check out the following:

http://www.usnews.com/articles/business/careers/2008/08/04/7-ways-your-e-mail-ca...

Adaware will remove adware from the computer, while ATF Cleaner will remove the temporary internet files.

Even if you remove the internet temporary files, your boss, if they wanted to could still find out what you have been doing on the computer.

My advice would be to use the work computer for work and nothing else. Wait until you get home or to a friend's house, if you do not own a computer to do what you want.

Hope this helps!

I can answer most questions regarding viruses/Trojans and help to remove them.

Experience

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
