Computer Security & Viruses/Slow computers - Trojan?

Question
Hi Brian - I have had to do a new post as it said too many followups:

Hi Sheila

Your laptop seems to be well configured.  It should be able to run all your apps without slowing down considerably as you say it has.  The only program I am not familiar with is Spamfighter.  What can you tell me about this program, and was the computer OK before installing the program?  You can post me the desktop Combofix log as well, and let me know how the computer is running now.

"You asked what Spamfighter was - I don't appear to have this on my laptop now as I deleted it - it blocked spam into my email account.  Laptop appears to be running faster now but I have encountered a couple of problems since running combofix - the system doesn't retain my cookies even though I have gone back and ticked the box - each time I have to log into my yahoo email and other accounts that I should remain recognised on.
The other new problem is that almost each web page comes up as not displayed or web page expired and when I click refresh or the back cursor I get to the page.  These are new problems.

Desktop log below - this is becoming a major problem - so slow it can take half an hour to do anything so I can't use it:

Answer
Hi Sheila

For the laptop, IE7's settings may have been compromised due to the spyware, and removing the malware "broke" explorer.  You could try uninstalling IE, then reinstalling.  I suggest, however to upgrade to IE8, which is in the late beta stage and is due for release soon.  The program is very stable and secure.  The download link is:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/beta/default.aspx

As for the desktop, I am beginning to think that hardware may be at fault.  Download and run the Belarc Advisor from here:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

I need to know the make and model of your hard drive(s).  The Belarc scan will list your drive and the SMART status of the drive.  Let me know the findings, or send me the log at numbersix6@yahoo.com.
