Hi there, I read one of you other answers regarding virus' & spyware. I tried downloading Spybot search & Destroy and one other program from download.com  filehippo.com with no luck...the whole process goes through then I get a messages like "Cannot connect to server." Is this the spyware at work? What can I do to get this stuff out of my system? Any advice is appreciated. Thaks!

It is not uncommon for AVG to give the message that it could not connect to the server. It does it all the time on me. I just manually update it when I get a chance. AVG is really good and really doesn't have to be updated every day. However, if you can't get it to connect to the update server at all, you will have to adjust the settings. Let me know and I'll go on their help site and find out how to adjust the settings to fit your connection.
Spybot can be updated manually at www.majorgeeks.com . This is usually how I update it. Just look for the latest update, download it to your desktop, and run it. It will install to the proper place automatically and update spybot.
