Computer Security & Viruses/Windows doesn't boot up

Question
I have an Acer aspire 3000 laptop.  When I try to turn my computer on all I get is the green light showing it is on and a black screen.  This has happened one other time, but this time it's really not coming back on.  I really need my laptop back! Please help me.

I have been unable to find much information on why this is happening, however, I have found quite a number of people with the same issue.  This leads me to believe that there is a defect with this particular model, possibly a motherboard issue.  The good news is that your hard drive and information stored is most likely ok.  You will need to contact Acer for repairs, or find a local shop.  In the meantime, you can remove the hard drive and use an external case to access it.  I'm sorry that I cannot 'solve' this issue for you.  The Acer contact information can be found here:
