Question
QUESTION: Hello,

I recently got this error when trying to access my external hard drive. I searched this error and found that you must scan using anti-malware and it will delete the autorun.inf.
The problem is that it says that if found the threat, but when it tries to get rid of it, it says it cant find the file. When i first plug in my HDD, i can access it form that autorun thing, but if I were to try accessing from My Computer, this error comes up.
So I opened it from the autorun, but when I looked at hidden folders, this file did not exist.
How do I delete the file if I cant find it? I've done many searches, but no progress.

Thank you

ANSWER: What kind of anti-spyware program are you using? I use Spybot Search and Destroy. It is free. You can get it at www.snapfiles.com or www.filehippo.com

I also found this link about the malware you have. It tells a fix but I don't know if it is free or not.

Let me know how everything works out.

QUESTION: Thanks. I actually found some guide that worked, but there's a new problem now. My internet does not work. Everyone else in the house has it working, my cables are plugged in, but only my pc does not. What should be done.

By the way, im using anti-malware, norton, and AVG. My friend told me I should only have one, so i might keep AVG.

Thanks

Answer
Actually you may fix your internet connection by uninstalling Norton's and keeping AVG. There are some problems that can occur when using them both at the same time.

If you are connected via wired or wireless router (networked) you should go to network connections and see if there is any activity whatsoever. Due to the problems and fixes your network settings might be messed up now. You may have to go through the steps in setting up your connection again to restore the proper settings.

Keep me up to date and we'll work through it.
