Question
Hey,
A friend recently got a virus on mhis computer and AVG told him it was removed, however, he has been getting porn-related search entries in his google search box in firefox. Basically, He'll start firefox and there will be a porn-related search up in the search box,  Is this a virus?

Answer
Sounds like malware or a trojan to me. Is he running any kind of anti-spyware program?
If not he will need to get something like Spybot Search and Destroy. It is free and can be downloaded from www.download.com or www.filehippo.com

Download, Install, and update it. Run a scan and see what it detects. And get it to try and remove whatever it is. Let me know what the name of the malware is if it will not remove it and we will go from there.
First things first, get the software, identify the problem, and try to remove it.
