Computer Security & Viruses/Runtime error

Question
James, thank you for taking my question. I will try to be brief.

I wanted to perform a System Restore. I got:

A Runtime error has occurred.

Do you wish to debug?

Line:148

error object expected.

yes   no

When I answer yes--- Debugging using Just in Time Debugging system comes up. This says the error can be fixed if MSXML3.DLL is installed but I can't seem to install it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ken

Answer
Ken,
MSXML3.DLL is part of a group of services that allows one to access Microsoft development tools, VBScript and JScript.  It's not registering as installed.

Run command:
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
Reboot
Then try System Restore.

If everything's working OK, consider a check of all protected Windows files using the System File Checker tool "Run sfc /scannow" from the command prompt
