Computer Security & Viruses/Cause

Question
Hey Brian,
Just wondering what caused this virus to infect my computer, and what is a good anti-virus program and precautions.

Thanks,
Joe

Answer
Hi Joe

It's hard to say what actually caused the infection.  Usually, they are installed in a fly-by, meaning you clicked a pop-up or browsed a web page that contained the virus.  This is why I had you uninstall the Logitech desktop and the toolbar.  Both are security risks because they invite pop-ups and downloads directly to your machine.  Install a good firewall such as Comodo:

Also, add an anti-virus program like Avast:

Both are free and do a good job of keeping malware at bay.  Good luck!
