Question
When I try to load Norton from Yahoo DSL account it says it can't load until I remove McAfee Shredder, but it isn't there when I go to remove programs.  I ran regisrty ccleaner without help?  Yahoo tech support is no help either.

Answer
Hi Craig

Just follow the instructions below:

Place your McAfee CD into drive if you have it.
A window should appear asking to reinstall or uninstall McAfee
Click on Uninstall
A Window should appear, which allows you to uninstall certain components for example McAfee Shredder, Firewall Plus etc

Check the McAfee Shredder (make sure you only select this one or else your uninstall other components), then click the continue button

Or

Download and run the McAfee Removal tool

1. Download the removal tool from http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
2. Click Save and save the file to any folder on the computer.
3. Navigate to the folder where the file is saved.
4. Make sure all McAfee application windows are closed.
5. Double-click MCPR.exe and the removal tool will start automatically.
Note: Windows Vista users must right-click and select Run as Administrator.
6. Once the removal tool is finished, you will be prompted to restart your computer. If you choose to restart later, your McAfee product will not be fully removed until you do.
7. Wait for the computer to restart.

All McAfee products should now be removed from your computer.

Or

Start>My Computer>Local Disk>Program Files>McAfee>McAfee Shared Components>Shredder << delete this folder

Please be careful not to delete any other folders.

I hope this has helped you out.  If you can't do it with any of these suggestions, please let me know.  Good luck.
