Question
Answer   Hi Skott

Looking over the log, I don't see any malware which would cause a browser redirect, but the problem you are having may not be related to Norton.  I suggest removing the AskSearchBar by going into your Control Panel and running Add/Remove Programs.  I would also try temporarily removing ZoneAlarm.  After that, reboot and see if you can't change the start page.  If those suggestions don't solve the problem, then we know Norton is most likely to blame.

Alright...Zone Alarm is gone, but I cannot find this ask search bar....would the Google Toolbar suffice??

Answer
Hi Skott

You are correct.  Looking over your log again, there is no AskToolbar.  It must have been lack of sleep on my part, I'm sorry.  By removing ZoneAlarm, did that help the browser redirect?  You can leave Google alone, that would not cause it.  My money is still on Norton.
