Answer
Hi John

I'll be glad to help you remove this pest.  Please follow the instructions below:

1. Download SmithfraudFix tool and save it to your desktop from here:

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.exe

2. Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode. If you don’t know how to start the computer in safe mode, use the steps below:
* Turn on the computer.
* As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.
* Select safe mode from the screen options, and then press ENTER.

3. Double-click on the SmithfraudFix.exe icon then follow the screen instructions. Option #2 should be selected in this case.

4. When you are prompted with “Do you want to clean the registry ?”, simply answer “Y”.

5. Reboot normally.

6. Please download TrendMicro HijackThis! from the following link:
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe
* Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
* Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
* By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
* Click on Install.
* It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
* Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
* Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
* Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" and Paste the entire contents of that log, along with the SmitfraudFix log (located usually at C:\rapport.txt) here in a follow up.
