Question
Hey Brain,
I email back but wanted to make sure you recieved it...I am a little unsure about my computer now.  this response is to our very last chat:

Hey Brain,

Well, I thought I did a full reinstall of windows and before I did that I did put all our important stuff on CD's to back them up.  After I got done with that I found my CD for windows and started the reinstall, however when I first tried it wouldn't let me because it kept saying that the window I had on there was more current then the C.D., so I removed what I thought (hopefully) that windows and then it appeared to let me install.   Did I screw everything up??  Also once the process finished and I rebooted my computer everything was still on it with no changes with the exception of the problem at hand and the updates.  I HATE THIS COMPUTER!!!!  So with that all said and done where do I start.   Thanks again and talk to you soon

Jacki :)

Answer
Hello Jacki,

Yep, you screwed it up! :-p  Instead of writing out the whole procedure, here is a link:
http://www.windowsxpprofessional.windowsreinstall.com/installxpcdoldhdd/indexful...
Print out the page (actually a few pages).  This is an excellent guide, and it explains it all step-by-step.  Like I told you previously, after the install, run Windows Update, install your anti-virus, run a scan, then reinstall programs and documents.  After reading the guide, if you have any questions on what to do, you know where to find me.

Brian (not Brain) LOL!
