ANSWER: Hi Christine
I would suggest trying to re-enable the autorun feature for your drive. It may have been shut off inadvertently. Download the program TweakUI from Microsoft here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c/a/fca6767b-9ed9-45a6-b352-839afb2a267
This program gives you access to system settings that are not exposed in the Windows XP default user interface, including mouse settings, Explorer settings, taskbar settings, and more. Once you've installed TweakUI you'll find a lot of options in it. For your current problem, in TweakUI expand My Computer, and then AutoPlay. Click on Drives and check the drive letter that you want to AutoPlay. Done. Hopefully that will work for you. If not, please let me know.

You must Be a member of the Administrators group in order to insall this Power Toy.
ANSWER: Hi Christine
You must be logged on as an administrator. When you start your PC, log onto an account that has administrator privileges. I was also assuming that you are running XP. If this is not correct, please let me know.

AnswerHi Christine
Sorry I could not get back to you directly. Try this:
Click Start-->My Computer. Right-click the CD or DVD-ROM drive that you want to configure, and then click Properties.
Click the AutoPlay tab. Under Actions, select Play using Windows Media Player. Click Apply, then OK. That will set your preference to open WMP when a disc is inserted. Hope that helps.
