Question
Hi Brian please advise how to remove permanently this double click thing. My pc is running very slow and perhaps this dc thing may be causing it. I am on win xp home plus google.

DoubleClick is often linked with the controversy over spyware because browser HTTP cookies are set to track users as they travel from website to website and record what commercial advertisements they view and select while browsing.  According to a San Francisco IT consulting group, although DoubleClick does offer an opt-out page, this only affects cookies; DoubleClick continues to track users via IP addresses.

First, I recommend using CCleaner to clean your temp files and cookies.  Download it here:

Next, download and run Spybot Search & Destroy here:

Finally, use an ad blocker to keep it from coming back.  I use IE7Pro for IE7 (naturally).  If you use IE6, Google toolbar should block most ads.  Or just use Firefox.  See below for downloads.  Good luck.
