Question
I have a DSL Basic internet service rated up to 256Kb/s, but it has been running at about 50Kb/s for a couple of weeks. Through various efforts, have probably eliminated the more likely problems, e.g., service provider problems, set up mistakes. I'm left to wonder if it could be a virus or other malware. The Windows XP Pro Network connections window shows my ISP disconnected and something else running my connection (though I do have a router, so maybe that's normal). It's a home system with two computers connected to a router. I was led to this website by googling something I found: "msnmsgr192.168.0.100" Below is the Hijack log. If you can be helpful, well, that would be wonderful.

Your HJT log file is clean, so we need to look elsewhere for the source of the slowdown.  Try running the tests on the following page:

http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/default.asp

They will help you to diagnose the bandwidth problem.  If you have any questions about the tests or need help with the results, just let me know.
