Computer Security & Viruses - Strange and Difficult virus.

Question
Recently I've acquired a strange virus that closes any folder that I open.  I can't use the search function, because the folder will be closed, I can't go into add/remove programs, I just cant do anything.  Anytime I open a folder I have 5 seconds or less before it closes.  I found out from Windows Defender that I have a virus called "Vundo", but however any program in relation as well as virus scanner that is supposed to detect vundo, doesn't.  (I.E. such as Vundo Fix etc.)  Windows Defender does alert me anytime after I restart my computer that I am still infected with this virus.  Strange thing as well with this is I read up on what Vundo is supposed to do-- and it turns out it's supposed to give me constant pop-up adds.  I'd rather have the pop-up adds, because it seems my infection with vundo doesn't do that, but instead, as said in the beginning, it closes every folder that I open in 5 seconds or less.  Future appreciations for any help.

Answer
Hi,
What AntiVirus are you using?
Are your MS updates current?
You have tried the Vundo Fix program and it did not work, correct?
Have you tried the VirtumundoBegone Fix?

You may need to dnload the "Hijack This" program and submit the log results to a good help Forum if none of the above worked.

Let me know.
