Computer Security & Viruses/Virus ? for a friend

Question
My friend has Windows XP, Operating System and has a Spyware cyberlog.x virus on it and wants to know how to remove it. He did a system restore and it didn't help, didn't frafment C drive didn't need it, clean up and no internet access. Slow startup live with spyware internal scan 300 strands of spyware.

Please let me know how he can remove it so I can print out the document for him and give it to him.
