QUESTION: Hi Again Brian,

It seems that the virus have been removed with the Malwarebytes remover. Now the computer is running ok, and the IE is working just fine.

Anyway, I have a problem with HJT, when I run it, the log it gives me, always come with the date from the ones I sent you before, and the instllled software doesn't change (it still have the AVG and other I uninstall to doble-check), anyway, see below the log from Malwarebytes remover (it's in Portuguese, if you want I can translate it for you):

ANSWER: Hi Luis

I'm glad that the computer is working normally again.  I still would like to see an HJT log just to make sure.  Try uninstalling the program, then reinstalling it again.  I think the virus may have been playing tricks with it.  From what I can see in this Malwarebytes report, the Trojan.FakeAlert was found and deleted successfully.  It may still have left some pieces behind, which is why I ask for the HJT log.  After you try the scan again, it should be safe to reinstall your antivirus and turn on Windows Defender once again.

Hi Luis

Glad to be of assistance.  You just need to delete one entry, and you'll be clean.  Close all open windows.  Run HJT, this time as a scan only.  Place a check in the box next to the following item, then click the Fix Checked button:

Restart your computer, and double check to see the file is gone with another HJT scan.  If it is, then we're all done.  You can then reinstall the new AVG 8, or try my recommendation: avast4Home:
