Question
QUESTION: I Brian, recently I've been infected (still asking myself how). The virus, everytime I open internet explorer tell me that there is a security failure and try to download a file (allways cancell it). I run AVG and doctor spyware, and they didn't do anything. I can't open any IE page without going to the download page.

Can you help me on this?

ANSWER: Hi Luis

I'd be more than happy to help.  First, disable Windows Defender, as it has been known to hamper the removal process.  You can turn it back on after we are done with the clean-up.
1. Open Windows Defender by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Defender.
2. Click Tools, and then click Options.
3. Under Administrator options, select or clear the Use Windows Defender check box, and then click Save. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Next, for the same reasons, you should uninstall AVG temporarily.  You are running AVG7, which was replaced by AVG8 back in April.  The program is still free.
1.  Click the Start Button, Click Control Panel, then look for Programs and Features and click on that.
2.  Scroll Down the list to find AVG and Uninstall.
Note: You may need to restart your computer.

Now we can go on to remove this trojan.  Download ComboFix to your destop from the following link, but do not run it yet:

Close all open windows, including this one.  Open HJT and click to do a Scan Only.  Place a check mark in the box next to the following items, then click on the Fix Checked button:

After fixing, close HJT.  Reboot the computer into Safe Mode.
1.  After the computer turns on, but before you see the Windows Logo, continuously press the F8 key until a menu appears.
2.  Using the arrows keys, choose to start Windows in Safe Mode, and press Enter.
3.  Choose your normal log-in account.

Once at your desktop, click the ComboFix icon to run the program, and follow the prompts.  When finished, ComboFix generates a pop up log saved to C:\ComboFix.txt.
Note:  Do not mouseclick the ComboFix window while it's running. That may cause the program to stall.  

If ComboFix did not already restart your computer into normal mode, please do so now by rebooting.  Run HJT once again and post me the new log, along with the ComboFix log.

It seems like ComboFix does not get along with your Vista machine.  I was hoping it would, but Vista really doesn't get along with many programs.  No matter.  The HJT log you sent is the old one from yesterday.  Please scan again and send me the new one from the notepad that pops up after completion.  Also, give me an update on how the computer is running.

QUESTION: Hi Brian,

The computer runs more or less normal, the exception is the IE, everytime I try to open a page a message come to me saying that my computer is under a big risk and I need to download a file (redirecting me to the download page), and that happens to me in all internet pages...

Before you attempt another HJT scan though, I want you to download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop from here:

1. Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
2. At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
  o Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  o Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
then click Finish.  If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
3. Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.  When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
4. Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
5. When completed, a log will open in Notepad.  I will need a copy of that log, and a new HJT log.  

Note that AllExperts may tell you to start a new thread post.  They limit the number of follow-ups here.  Please do so.
