Computer Security & Viruses/MSN messenger problems

Question
Hello,
I ran the above Hijackthis and still I have this problem outlined below. I have a computer wuth Windows XP Pro SP1. Everything works fine on it. But as soon as I login into MSN Messenger, the pc just shuts down say a few mins into chatting with someone. Also whilst on MSN messenger, the hard drive makes a lot of noise and the red light flashes up constantly. The problem only ever occurs when I login into MSN messenger (or windows messenger I think its called). On normal browsing, I have no problems. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck. Its very annoying when pc shuts down as to lob back in, I will have to ahve like 3 or 4 more attempts to sucessfully login since it reboots severals times itself before it can launch teh icons and windows desktop.I have deleted a lot of the photos and videos on the hard drive, just to make the pc run faster, but no such luck. I also installed PC Optimize and PC Tools software to serach for spyware and malware. It does some sort of intelligence scan.
Please help...

Answer
Hi Tarun

Try the following:

Click start->run->type cmd, click ok, then type in CHKDSK and press enter.
After CHKDSK, again click start->run->type cmd, click ok, type
sfc /scannow then press enter.
Make sure you leave a space between sfc and /scannow.

Try Messenger, and if the PC is still shutting down, please post me a HijackThis log so I can look it over.
