Question
QUESTION: i was trying to install a floppy disc drive but that wasn t working very well so i abandonned that project. Here's my problem...when i restarted my computer (windows xp home edition) it wouldn t go into windows so i went into bios and there it said that hard drive was not installed...i tried reconnecting everything but to no avail..any

ANSWER: Hi Clem

I would have to suggest that you go back and disconnect the cable from the drives and the motherboard, then inspect each for bent pins.  The pins are very small and can easily be bent if not careful.  Then reconnect and see if the machine recognizes the drive.

QUESTION: tried that but still no luck

Answer
Hi Clem

Did you reconnect the power supply to the HDD?  Also, check to make sure that the jumper is set on the HDD to Master.  Finally, try another hard drive to see if the BIOS recognizes that one.  Maybe the HDD you are trying to use is really dead.
