Computer Security & Viruses/Go-Google

Question
Hi Keith,

I've read your previous answers about Go Google and have tried to download assistance via grisoft and filehippo, but the virus seems that bad it won't let me download.  It gives me a win32 msg, or then tells me that my files are corrupt.  I can't download games for my daughter, nor can I watch media player. In short, any solutions posted on sites don't seem to help as I can't get past first base!  Any assistance will be gratefully received.  Mark.

Answer
See if you can start your machine in safe mode (usually by clicking F8 on start-up: if you are on cable or dsl you will have to pick the "safe mode with networking option) and see if you can download and run a virus scan from there. I also found this link which includes a possible fix: http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread145363.html

Let me know how you come out.

Keith
