Computer Security & Viruses/Hiding WEBROOT Pop-Up Alerts

Question
I bought Webroot Spy Sweeper 5.8 four months ago.  All of a sudden today, I started getting these Pop-Up Alerts in the lower right-hand corner telling me the sites Webroot has blocked.  (And, they are NON-STOP!)  I have to stop what I'm doing to close the alert and the alerts hide the right-hand scrolling arrows.  I contacted Webroot and they responded with a "million" links -- none of which told me how to hide the pop-up alerts.  I don't want to disable the alerts -- I just don't want to see them.  (I also Googled to see if I could find an answer, and found nothing.)  Can you help?  Thanks, Alida

Answer
Have you checked out this link http://support.webroot.com/cgi-bin/webroot.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php and the frequent problems along with the user guide? I did notice that there was a gamer setting that will not bother you with the pop-ups but I don't know if it is disabling the whole program or just the alerts. I have never used webroot but it looks like an awesome program. Does it actually remove problems or just detect them. If it is just detecting problems, you may have a problem that needs to be removed. I use Spybot Search and Destroy and have had great success with it. You can get it here http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Let me know how it goes.
