QUESTION: Hi Brian. I did all you suggested in your previous email. I checked Toshibas website and they had 27 drivers to install. I didnt know which ones would be suitable though. I did try to download the BIOS one but it needed a floppy disc to write on, so i got stuck there. I wonder if my laptop is just old and cant be fixed, though i hope this is not the case. Thank you in advance for all your help and fingers crossed this problem can be sorted.

I was wondering if you managed to install the updated drivers for your laptop.  You needn't worry about the BIOS updates, just the drivers.  Let me know if that helped the keyboard any.

Hi Sarah

OK, I'm starting to run out of ideas here.  I don't see any driver directly related to the keyboard, just a bunch of Toshiba Utility software which may or may not help, so it wouldn't hurt to update the files you need.  Unless someone else is having the same trouble, I assume that you are posting on the Toshiba forum here:

I was going to suggest trying the forum, or contacting Toshiba directly.  Reinstalling Windows IS an option, but you do need a Windows recovery disk for your model, which I found on ebay-uk here:

Just be warned that if the problem is hardware related, reinstalling Windows will not work.  You may be able to locate a replacement keyboard, which are really not that difficult to install.  
In any event, please keep me posted as to your progress.  I am curious myself, as to the cause of the problem.
