Question
Hello, Brian! I have 3year old Toshiba Satellite M45 loptop.I did not have a problem before, but at the beginning of the 2009year I download "Antivirus 2009" offered by Microsoft and it was "trick".I thought that was as a package from Norton which I used from my service AT&T.On laptop I can not to do anything. When I turn it on -it appear desktop, that is it...I don't remember- did I let "Antivirus2009" just "run" or I had downloaded to hard drive.Brian!I had call to AT&T tech support to let me help to download McAffe antivirus on which AT&T has switched in 2009y  from Norton. They could not to help me and transfer me to Norton techsupport to help me to uninstall the Norton. So Norton techperson also could not help to me. Than I personally call to Synaptec -and they offered to clean stuff from loptop. At home I have desktop which is working and "stucked " laptop. What I have to do? Thank you so much and for advise. Sincerely John.

Answer
Hi John

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode?  If not, then turn on the laptop and continuously tap the F8 key until a menu appears.  Choose to boot Windows into Safe Mode with Networking.  Once at your desktop, please follow these instructions:
Download Malwarebytes' AntiMalware from here:

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
o Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Run a Full System Scan
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post me the log file in a follow-up.
