Computer Security & Viruses/security reset

Question
For the last few weeks without exception everytime I turn on my computer I run into the followowing.I get an icon on the bottom of the screen saying a security issue needs to be fixed.I open the McAfee security center and get the window saying computer not fully protected-part of problem must be fixed now.

The listed issues are 1]real-time scanning disabled 2]spyware and potentially unwanted program scanning is disabled 3]IM scanning is disabled 4]Script scanning disabled 5] buffer overflow protection disabled.

So I click the fix button. It begins the process and then a window pops up saying '1 or more problems cannot be fixed because of an error' I often have to reclick the fix button 6-10 times before it finally says fully protected.

So first off why would security be disabled everytime the computer is turned on, and even then why does it not want to fix itself?   thank you

Answer
I would download a fresh software version to your desktop, uninstall the current software, restart, re-install and restart again. If it's a corrupt file(s), doing this should fix it.

If that doesn't work, it could be incompatible 3rd party software on your system (or something else), in which case contacting McAfee's Security Center Support people:
http://www.mcafee.com/us/support/index.html
would be best to troubleshoot the problem.
